About the commission

If asked WGSN would tell you that they can forecast the colours we'll all be wearing and using in our homes over the coming years. It's an interesting claim, based on their research and analysis of current trends, and where they think current design practice is going to lead us.

So of course it was great to have an opportunity to install work in their central London offices and think about the idea of fashion as a component of colour, both in theory and practice.

I tend to think of my own colour choices as fairly free from external influence, but no doubt on closer reflection, wider societal trends must, of course, play some subconscious part in the decisions being made, and how that influences the look and feel of contemporary art over the years. How WGSN predict those future changes remains fairly mysterious to me though!
