About Lumen at UWE
Professor Carinna Parraman invited me to be a guest exhibitor at Impact 6, held at UWE, University of the West of England, a few years back. I was delighted to be offered the chance to install a 2m square 9 panel Lumen / REZ piece behind the speaker's chair in the art school's new atrium.

"It was both a privilege and a pleasure to host IMPACT 6 in 2009, and to welcome IMPACT back to UWE, celebrating 10 years since the first conference was hosted in Bristol in 1999.
IMPACT conferences have now been held in six countries and across two continents. What began, as a ‘one off’ event has become a biennial feature in the printmaking calendar, bringing together hundreds of delegates from around the world.
In fact 437 delegates from 34 countries attended the conference, drawn from artists, academics, curators, conservators, collaborative studios and students. We were particularly pleased that IMPACT drew delegates from all the populated continents of the world.
IMPACT 6 celebrated the international diversity of the printmaking discipline from its roots in industrial communication through traditional, fine art based processes, to the current cutting edge technology and theoretical debates.
Not forgetting the important contribution to social and political commentary from printmaking’s earliest roots through to the present day. We encouraged participation from print studios, print curators, craftspeople, artists and academics, and we particularly welcomed student involvement, without whom there would be no future generation of printmakers."
