About beBop

I drew two beBop studies, 33 and 45, one landscape, one portrait.

I wanted to pack the long player version with enough detail to create continuous interest as you walk past the work, ideally, it would be large enough to be read in sections, as if there were individual phrases within the whole.

The idea being to work on individual components within the larger study, rather than the whole piece at once.

As with all the pieces for my Lucid / RMX show, the original simpler linear study is ‘remixed’ through the addition of a second overlaid geometry, which creates moderately psychedelic eyes along the length of the work, as the geometry pops quite randomly as it plays.

There’s an intentional connection with the bebop and scat singing style that creates those beats and pops too, of course…

Price and dimensions

beBop 33 is a metallic Lambda photographic print, optionally mounted to Plexiglass and Dibond, and fitted with a hidden subframe, ready to install.

Work can be supplied unmounted and ready to frame if you’d prefer.

The work is individually signed and numbered verso, with both a unique catalogue raisonné number and the edition number for guaranteed authenticity.
